Maine Women in the Arts presents "Personal Best" exhibition at River Tree Arts

SONG SWAP . . . OPEN MIC . . . JAM SESSION
WEDNESDAY - JULY 8 - 7-9 PM
Musicians of all ages and abilities are invited to join River Tree faculty members Dave Coleman and Keith Fletcher for a unique combination of song swaps, open mics, and jam sessions. Come to play and listen in a low key atmosphere as new, emerging and experienced musicians expand their repertoire, hone their
performance or try out songs for the first time. Donations are welcome but not required.

We believe that the arts and education are inseparable from one another. Art and music. Theater and dance. Literature and design. The arts give voice to the human experience. Nurturing both creativity and critical thought, the arts are a fundamental piece of a holistic education. Yet, in a time of increasingly scarce funding for public schools, arts budgets are among the most frequently cut. Through the creation of genuine partnerships with educators, schools, and other area organizations, River Tree seeks to ensure that budgetary constraints do not limit the ability of children, young adults, and the wider community to find their own means of expression or to develop the skills of analytical thought essential to full participation in a democratic society. |
