
The Irvine School of Art offers both private and group lessons with professional art instructors in a variety of mediums. Whether studying oil painting, watercolor or acrylic methods, sculpture, figure drawing, portraiture or pastel. All ages are welcome. From preschoolers to seniors, students are encouraged to progress artistically from his or her expressive and experiential stage.

Gardens in Watercolor
Gardens in Watercolor participants will venture around the
Kennebunks to paint outdoor compositions at various gardens, inns and scenic
locations. This class is fun, relaxing and good for those who want to paint

Studio Drawing
Studio Drawing will provide a step-by-step approach to recreate
space and form as we see it. The emphasis will be on tonal drawing, direct
observation and nature. The development of forms derived from the study of

Studio Watercolor
Studio Watercolor is an advanced approach to learning the
skill of painting in watercolor. The focus will be on value, color mixing,
shading, capturing light, various surfacing techniques such as wet on wet and

Oil Painting in the Kennebunks
Oil Painting in the Kennebunks takes you to different scenic spots around the area to paint. This is a good class for anyone who wants to learn to work with oils for the first time, or for someone who wishes to improve technique. Dennis Poirier, www.dennispoirierstudio.com Wednesdays 9am-12pm
Color Notes:
Color Notes: the Landscape is perfect for building confidence in painting. Step-by-step you will learn how to successfully paint from life. Value drawing, composition and color theory will be taught.
