Flute Lessons
Rachael holds a BM in Music Education from the University of Southern Maine, under Jean Rosenblum. She was a member of the Strathclyde University Symphony Orchestra in Glasgow, Scotland, has studied in Nova Scotia with Patricia Creighton (Nova Scotia Symphony), and participated in the Boxwood Festival under Chris Norman. She has attended and participated in numerous masterclasses throughout New England (Alexa Still, Doriot Dwyer, Elizabeth Rowe, James Galway).
Rachael is currently a freelance performer, involved with chamber ensembles, and the Casco Bay Concert Band. She has been a past adjudicator in regional district auditions, and the Kotzschmar Memorial Fund. Rachael has recently been flute faculty at the Southern Maine Music Academy at USM, and a participant in the National Flute Convention in New York City.
Her students range from beginning players and adults, to students who participate in the Portland Youth Ensembles, Allstate, and hold principal positions in district festivals. Rachael is a Kennebunk native and currently resides in town with her husband Tyler and daughters Emilie and Abigail.
