Cellist Timothy Garrett's performing career has taken him from
European Cathedrals to Carnegie Hall to outdoor rock festivals.
Classically trained, Tim considers his most influential teachers
William Rounds of the Boston Pops and Boston Symphony, Andre
Emilianoff from The Juilliard School, Peter Howard, former principal
cellist of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and Nathan Stutch, former
assistant principal cellist of the New York Philharmonic.
Tim is a permanent member of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and has
performed with most of the professional ensembles across the state
including the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
In recent years, Tim has been exploring other styles of music. He has
performed and/or recorded with Rustic Overtones, Ray Lamontagne and
Mannheim Steamroller among others. His current projects are Marion
Grace, Pete Miller and Zhelanye. He teaches at RDL Strings, The
Portland Conservatory of Music and Apollon Music and Arts School.
